(Tuesday, June 8, 2010) The ASA OREGON Midwest Truck Tour is getting ready to head north for the “Elko 40L presented by grandstay.net” at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN this Saturday night, June 5th. This is the second event for the newly formed Truck Tour division and after a five week hiatus, truck drivers and teams are ready to go racing.

Sun Prairie, WI veteran, Jerry Wood, took home the checkered flag at the 2010 season opener at Madison International Speedway and is looking forward to backing it up with another victory. For many truck drivers, like 2008 and 2009 USST Series Champion and all-time truck series feature winner, John Wood, this will be their first visit to the 3/8-mile oval in a truck division.

“The guys that are racing in this series will make the series what it is. Their participation and dedication will also make the series sponsor, OREGON Chains, proud and they will put on a great show for our fans along the way,” added Steve Einhaus, ASAMT Vice President.

(Wednesday, May 26, 2010) Motor sports has been one of the fastest growing sports over the last several years. Fans flock to see their favorite drivers compete at high speeds running side by side, lap by lap. But what is it that makes this sport continue to grow and gain diehard fans? The answer is simple: Sponsorship and Marketing.

American Speed Association PR
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Wednesday, May 19, 2010) - Their highest was 68 and their lowest was 28, but have averaged around 40 cars per event in the first three seasons. The ASA Midwest Tour continued that momentum as they entered the 2010 season with 42 cars at their season opener event at the Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway on May 2nd.

“One thing we have been really blessed with is the car count. We have averaged a little over 40 cars at each event in the first three seasons and had 42 at our fourth season opener a few weeks ago,” Tim Olson, ASAMT President said. “A lot of that is due to having common rules with many of the tracks in the Midwest which makes it real easy for the local drivers to come and compete with us. It’s the drivers, the fans and the sponsors that is the main focus of our tour.”
