By: Kari Shear-Carlson
(Saturday, July 3, 2010) There were fireworks in the sky, and sparks on the track as the ASA OREGON Midwest Truck Tour returned to Madison International Speedway in front of a great crowd for the “Gordie Boucher 40” lap feature. The ASA Midwest Truck Tour joined the Big 8 Series along with the Madison local divisions Friday night. John Wood swept the night away. Wood was the fast qualifier with a lap time of 18.618, won his heat race, and was the victor by only 0.098 seconds over his older brother Jerry Wood in the feature event.

Tom Roney and Vince Wilkenson led the field to the green flag only to be slowed for the first caution for debris after completing the first lap. At the restart, Wilkenson took the early lead only to be slowed yet again after Tom McCardle made contact with the wall and Tom Roney suffered from mechanical problems.
